leadership skills to youth and adults based on the philosophical, moral and ethical principles of the 28th U.S. President.

Urgent Call for Renewed Civility Gains Support

WASHINGTON (June 14, 2011) -- Incivility among members of the political class has badly corroded the "foundation of trust" Americans once had in their government, according to management expert and author Ira Chaleff. With trust in government so seriously damaged, asserts Chaleff, "We risk the public having no faith in Congress's capacity to represent the people's interests in the event of a national emergency such as a new financial debacle or major terrorist attack."

In recognition of the urgent need to amplify this call for civility, the WWLF is asking its supporters and friends to study and discuss Chaleff's works. Foundation President Donald Wilson Bush describes Chaleff as a thinker and writer who has dedicated himself to "awakening the civic spirit" in all Americans. In a letter to Chaleff, Bush wrote, "I wish specifically to offer my sincere appreciation for your compelling piece on the Tragedy of the Commons in The Washington Post." ...MORE

Anti-Bullying Peace Program Debuts at United Nations
UNITED NATIONS - The Woodrow Wilson Legacy Foundation officially launched it's signature anti-bullying campaign at the United Nations in New York this spring. Citing its anti-bullying education program, "Bully-Bully," WWLF President Donald Wilson Bush illustrated how bullying behavior flows down the social hierarchy when imitated creating barriers to positive human relations across all levels of society.

LOS ANGELES - The WWLF recognizes the actions of Pima County Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik for speaking truth to power. Dupnik's action follows the January 8th shooting incident in Tucson where six people died and 13 were injured, including U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords. ...MORE

2010 Nobel Winner, Liu Xiaobo
LOS ANGELES - WWLF adds its voice to those praising the Nobel Peace Prize committee for selecting Liu Xiaobo as its 2010 recipient. In a letter to committee chairman Thorbjørn Jagland, Bush said, "We are thankful for the action of the Nobel Committee for keeping a spotlight on Mr. Liu's struggle."
